HOW TO FIND A NEW CHURCH FAMILY
Whether you’re newly revived or recommitted, finding a new church home can feel like a daunting task. Here are some of our tips:
ASK SOMEONE YOU TRUST!
If someone directly ministered to you and led you to Christ then that’s a natural choice to get some recommendations or visit their church with them.
If you’re not yet a believer but are feeling the call of God, reach out to us on the contact page and we’ll be happy to help guide you to some options in your area.
DO SOME RESEARCH!
You can find anything online these days so in short order you’ll find there’s a never-ending list of churches out there. But where to start!?
Read some reviews. Reviews are only so accurate but you should be able to get a general consensus of what folks are saying about the organization.
Explore their website:
Do they clearly state their core beliefs/doctrines?
Are their beliefs biblically sound (do they back them up with quoted scriptures)?
Are they a well established church with a governing board and elders in place for accountability amongst leadership?
Do their service times/location coincide with a schedule you can comfortably accommodate?
Do they have small groups in place so you can more easily integrate into a new community of believers instead of feeling lost in a crowd?
If you have a family, do they have accountable children’s ministry options?
Most churches stream services these days, check out some recently posted services to get an idea of the style of the church
GO VISIT, CHECK IT OUR IN PERSON!
Are the members genuine and welcoming?
Are there people there you see yourself connecting with?
Do they have new visitor resources readily available for you to learn more about the church?
Do you feel the presence of God there and not just an emotional high from a talented worship team
ASK GOD!
Talk to God about every decision big or small, praying does wonders.
He knows what’s best for you, keep an open dialogue with Him and ask for His direction.
After a few visits at each church of interest you should start to feel pulled a certain direction
